  • We help low income, Pierce County minority students secure a college education and degree (click to download ethnicity percentages)
  • Our volunteer Board raises more than $250,000 annually from foundations, corporations and individuals
  • We maximize our purchasing power by planning 85 cents of every dollar for direct support of scholarship winners, through financial aid, mentoring, and endowment
  • We leverage our investments in the students
    • The Gates Achieves Scholarship Program
    • Willamette Program
    • Whitworth "Act Six" Program
      • Act Six is a hybrid urban leadership development and college access/retention program. Act Six recruits and selects a diverse, multicultural cadre of approximately 10 of Tacoma's most promising urban student leaders. Those leaders attend Whitworth College in Spokane, with the assistance of a fully funded four year education. The Palmer Foundation collaborates with the administration of Act Six in the selection process and partially funds three to five of the students selected. For more information go to the Act Six website.
  • We build and maintain mentoring programs for each of our students through their college career
  • We provide educational workshops for our students and our mentors
    • "Beyond Education" Seminar
  • We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization
