Furthering the mission of R. Merle Palmer to provide scholarships and mentors to low-income minority students in Pierce County.

Merle and Rosie Palmer

Since 1983, when R. Merle Palmer first began providing scholarships to the youth at Eastside Community Church in Tacoma, we have seen more than 250 students throughout Pierce County graduate from college.  These outstanding young men and women continue to make a difference in their community today.

What is a Palmer Scholar?
