From alumni reconnecting and sharing how far they’ve come, to supporters meeting scholars whose lives they’re helping shape, to new faces instantly feeling welcomed in there was a deep sense of belonging in the room.

Palmer Scholars was honestly the best thing for me coming straight out of graduating high school. It gave me direction when I really needed it and helped me see what I was capable of and also getting a perspective of what it’s like to be in the trades.

There are moments in time when showing up is more than attendance. It is an act of belief. Stand Up and Cheer is not just an event. It is a declaration that in an ever-changing world, we choose opportunity. We choose community. We choose to invest in the brilliance of young people.

Graduation is more than a moment it’s a milestone. Today, we proudly celebrate the graduates of Pathways Cohort 13 and the dedication, resilience, and growth they’ve shown throughout their journey.

As we close out the year, we want to pause and say thank you. Because of you, Palmer Scholars continued to walk alongside young people in Pierce County as they pursued college, apprenticeships, and meaningful career pathways.

What began as eight weeks of classroom learning and hands-on fieldwork culminated in a room full of pride, joy, and excitement for what’s ahead.

Last week, we gathered for one of our favorite traditions of the year, our Legacy Graduation Celebration! This special event is more than a party; it’s a joyful send-off as our graduating high school Scholars prepare to take their next big leap into college and beyond.

Guests from across our community joined us for an afternoon of connection, learning, and inspiration. The event began with a presentation highlighting our Palmer Scholars program which supports young people of color as they pursue college and career pathways, providing the guidance, resources, and community they need to thrive in higher education, the trades, and beyond.
