Chris Clay, Certified Community Health Worker
When did you start at Palmer Scholars?
I joined Palmers my junior year of high school, back in 2017 and graduated in 2018.
Where are you currently in your life?
Currently, I'm working on completing my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Along with coursework, I manage a client caseload at both the university's clinic and a local behavioral health agency. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Community Health, and in my spare time, I conduct research and analyze the effects of policy on various populations. Additionally, I’m passionate about integrating mental health and community wellness, exploring how systemic factors influence the well-being of diverse communities.
What advice do you have for current and future scholars?
To current and future Palmer Scholar's, don't rush your process, trust your growth. We all got a purpose, so your journey will look different than others, and that's okay. Honor your gifts, keep pushing, and you'll find your places.
